MAX
Wybar
Bounty Hunter
Max
is our little man about the house. Kayleigh’s second litter in 1996
produced just one dog, the product of a grandfather – granddaughter
mating. That was then a classic line breeding combination that I would
not so readily consider now. Not that Max has suffered any
disadvantages from it but because I have since learned that this not
only can establish desirable exterior qualities but also less desirable
hidden defects in the breed.
So
Max stayes with us because he was so nice and good looking and he still
is nice and even better looking! He has won many CC’s and also gained
the Winner title 3 times.
Max
is not the dominant dog type and prefers to keep out of the way when
the girls are fussing and fighting. He is happiest on the couch where
he can keep tabs on everything.
Like
his father and mother he also enjoys watching TV and, in spite of his
eyesight being less than perfect these days, as soon as any animal
appears on the screen he makes a dive, barking loudly, to send it on
it’s way. Like a true Norwich he has learned that the most animals
appear during the commercial breaks and that commercial breaks have a
recognisable beginning. Then he is at the ready but so are we, with the
remote control, to zap to another station.
Experts say that all
these habbits can be broken but we have only had temporary successes as
far as Max is concerned.
Max
had his 12th birthday in 2008 but still enjoys any outing that is
going. He acts like he could keep going for ever but we are mindful of
his years and take care not to overtax him. If we left it up to Max he
would keep going until he dropped. A true terrier our Max!
We had to put Max to sleep, due to his poor health, just one month
before his 15th bithday. We will remember him as a very special dog
who gave us a lot of pleasure and love.
