Frits and Yvonne
Barendregt-Willis. He is through and through Dutch,
born and bred in Noord-Holland and she a true-blue Brit born and raised
in England.
They married in 1971 and
took up residence in Noord-Holland. There
their lives were filled with, for him, his busy job in shipping and for
her their three childeren, giving lessons in English, membership of the
local Council and various other tasks in church and community.
A
couple of crossbreeds from the dog's home came along to enrich their
family's life but it was not until 1992 that the first pedigree dog
took up residence in the Barendregt household.

Due to a company
relocation in 1994 the whole family moved to the south
of the country and in the years that followed the children, now adults,
left home one by one. For Yvonne all these changes meant the loss of a
number of locally and family oriented activities. However then and now
she has managed to occupy
her time with her freelance translating and correction work, committee
work foor the Norwich breed association, an active involvement in
Christian organisations and - the dogs!
In the years since 1992
she has learnt a lot about dogs and about the
Norwich in particular and has also gained the KK1 certificate required
by the Dutch Kennel Organisation. She has been a committee member of
the Nederlandse Norwich Terrier Club since it was founded in 1993 and
is also a member of the English and American Norwich clubs.
In England she is on the “B” list of judges aproved by the
Norwich Terrier Club.
As breeder and exhibitor
of Norwich Terriers she has also enjoyed success .
When the Norwich Terrier
was found to be not completely free of certain
health problems she chose to give priority to the health of the breed
both as a committee member of the breed club and in her own activities
as a breeder.
She started breeding
with an “A” litter and you can see on the page Puppies
how many litters have been bred under the WYBAR banner up to now.
In all these activities
Frits, in the background, still provides
support and help and the children also do their
bit now and then.
